Welp, The Cats Out Of The Bag.....

Yes, it's true.... The Bowden Brigade is headed to Fort Riley, Kansas here in a few short months. Yikes! We are SUPER excited about this new adventure. But you know me....and all this planning is NOT the super exciting part. Blah! But I am so thankful that we have found a GREAT move prep calendar on one of the military resource websites and we will definitely be using it, starting on Monday.

Ok, y'all, send us what you know about Kansas. We haven't a clue! :)

Hi, just found your blog and decided to read it because my maiden name was Bowden and then saw your post about Ft. Riley! We lived there for 4 years and we are originally from TN. More to do there than you think. Manhattan is home to Kansas State University and the post has grown a lot since we were there, but we really enjoyed living there!

And just when I find someone in Germany you're going to up and move. Happy SITS Day! I'm going to go snoop around and see where in Germany you have been. I loved Germany as a little girl when my dad was in the Army. -Caren with a "C" preservinghomebasics.com

Welcome to the midwest. I'm actually in Missouri, but Kansas isn't so far away. I've heard good things about Fort Riley. I'm sure you'll love it there :)

Whoa! Lol...that was fast..you're moving BACK to the states...well, I can still read older posts and get the low down on what it is like to be stationed overseas. I'm looking forward to reading it all! Congrats again on your SITS day! =)

I have such romantic notions about Kansas, in part because most of my favorite bloggers are from Kansas. If you don't visit them already, I highly recommend :

I hope Kansas is just like they depict!

One of my best friends is from Kansas, and she loved it so much she agreed to move back there and be a small-town doctor! I've only been there once, but it was pretty and the people were friendly. I hope the same is true for Ft. Riley! Good luck with the move!
