Yes, we have been lucky with the timing and duration of deployments but still . . . they do stink! We have said our goodbyes for this go-'round but not until after we made our paper chain to count down the days.
I feel like such a bad unorganized Mommy . . . I NEVER did anything like this with Neeley for the last deployment, and she was at the age where it probably would have helped tremendously at that time. This time it was kind of like a "yeah, that would be nice to do so maybe I'll go look for some paper and scissors." But we all participated in making it and here it is hanging beautifully on our dining room wall. We've already begun the countdown and removed a few of the links. Now only how many more to go?
Be safe, hon, and we think of you 24/7. Can't wait to see you then!!

Praying for you all during this time, and I hope it goes by super fast! :) Staying busy does help, but you seem to be busy a lot, lol, so I think it'll be okay. haha.
Have a great weekend!

I think deployment is hard no matter how you spin it. We have lots of Air Force and Army friends here and have seen several friends adjust to deployment. YUCK.
Hang in there. I'll be praying for you guys.
Oh, and the paper chain? I started crying when I walked in my neighbor's kitchen at Christmas (she was in New Mexico, and her husband was deployed in November) and saw her paper chain strung ALL OVER their kitchen. They have four little kids (6 and under) and it was just almost too much for me.
