We really had so much fun while Ronnie was here. One day we took Neeley's bestie with us and visited Kletterwald - Laichingen which is a climbing forest. Too fun!!!!

Nothin' Like Eatin' Mickey Mouse

Neeley wanted a Mickey Mouse pancake this morning.



She made his face with syrup. And that pancake underneath it, you ask? Yeah, that one is made with butterscotch chips. So not on my Beachbody diet plan, but oh so yummy!

So that was our happy for the morning. What kind of happies have you had today??

Today's Topic: Family Budgets

Budget tends to be a nasty word to some. We try to stick to a budget and plan accordingly and save as much as we can but there are some months that it's just plain tough. Like when we plan a trip to Paris. :) Nah, that was all good! Or when my lil entrepreneurial spirit starts soaring like it is now and I start delving in to every little thing in front of me. Oh my! Remember that boutique I mentioned? Yeah.......about that! That could get me in trouble but it won't. Nope, I'm not buying in to that one. :)

{Ok, back to budgets...}

I did a lil quick research on family budgets online just to get an idea of what kind of systems are out there and what people generally think of their own budget...or lack thereof if you will. I was shocked to find that so many barely even know what the word means.

Wow...yep, just wow!

So tell me . . . what system do you use? And if you can share general monthly household numbers . . . {or politely make up a scenario} that would be great. Do share! How do you do it? And what is your best method for saving?

I Know I Will Never Forget

Do you remember where you were on September 11, 2001?



That day is a day I know I will never forget. I still just can't even tell you how I was feeling that day. I had just gone back to work after having Neeley. At that time, she was just two and a half months old. I was already a tired mess. And I was the only military wife working at the company I was with. I was totally clueless about the initial attack. When I got to work, I was ambushed by my boss and ALL of my coworkers, who were just trying to make sure I was okay. I was originally told to go pick up Neeley and take her to Ronnie and for the three of us to stay together. Ronnie was at work. My boss made my coworkers get back to work, and then he brought me a tv and hooked it up and brought it all up online. I immediately called Ronnie at work. And the rest is history. I was scared. I was scared for selfish reasons at first, with Ronnie in the military. And then I was scared for our country. And I was scared for that precious baby of mine that I just wanted in my arms at that very moment.

I stayed at work that day, but needless to say, no work was done. I spent the better part of the day in tears, watching the twin towers crumble over and over and over and over. That was in no way therapeutic, but now that I look back at it, I think I just really didn't know how to react. I wanted to run and hide, I wanted my lil family all together, I wanted to understand this mess. And I was afraid my hubby was leaving for some far away place and never to return. He never had to leave but still....there was that possibility and I think I felt sheer terror each and every day for about the next year.

So, once again, as I've said a million times before... I am sooooooooooo thankful for and proud of my soldier hubby, for those who stand right along with him today, and others who have gone before him.

May we never forget!

I have been making more cupcakes with Neeley lately. And let me take this time and say I feel {TERRIBLE} for always being a nervous wreck in the kitchen. I can't stand a mess and I tend to clean as I go and that drives the hubby crazy. LOL

But, nonetheless, I have been in a baking mood lately. And as I was looking at the products listed on OpenSky the other day, I found this cute lil cupcake making kit for only $20. How cute is that??

I think we all need more cupcakes in our lives!

Our Lil Getaway To Baden-Baden

Ronnie & I took a lil trip all to ourselves while he was here and it couldn't have been better! We headed to this sleepy lil tourist town for some R & R... The town boasts some older buildings that really are a sight to see. This was where we stayed, Hotel Rathausgloeckel. Our room was amazing! This was our view.... We stopped at a lil mall there and had lunch at this cafe.... Pizza Margherita for me and Schnitzel with Paprika Sauce for Ronnie. Yummy! Then we did some window shopping. And then changed clothes and headed over to our spa, the Caracalla Therme for an amazingly relaxing experience. After that, we got showered and went to dinner. This is the drink prep area of our hotel restaurant. I would have taken more pics of the place and of our meal but {SOMEBODY} hates that I take a million pictures. :) We walked around after dinner and it was so beautiful out! The next morning we did a lil more shopping at the "mall" and went to the Faberge Museum. We ended our trip with a lil drive around this cute lil tourist town and a peek in to this beautiful garden. Ah, this trip was good for the heart and soul...something we both needed! Now, if we can just make it through the next few months of this stinkin' deployment then it's all uphill from there!! Miss you hon!!
